Millennials Dave and Tess have just separated after twenty years together, yet money keeps them under one roof. To stay afloat they take in two boarders: Grace, a politically sharp Gen Z influencer, and Shep, an aged-care worker in their mid-30s who is unsure about continuing their transition.

When Grace lands the household on a ruthless survival series, Tess is sent into the bush alone. From base camp, Grace, Dave and Shep must tackle confronting social challenges to earn Tess supplies as they compete against other ‘found families’ for the million-dollar prize.
