When forty-something theatre tragic Jessa spends her divorce settlement on buying the long-disused local hall, she soon finds herself living alone in squalor, broke and overwhelmed.
With foreclosure talk in the air, Jessa’s friend Rae invites six of Jessa’s old high school friends back to their home town for a surprise “working bee.”
What begins as an awkward reunion soon unfolds into a chaotic but ultimately cathartic week of buried trauma, badly acted Jane Austen, and emotional renovation as the group scrambles to stage a one-night-only performance of Sense & Sensibility to save the theatre – and risk a second act of their own.
